If i'm going to be completely honest, as a young(er) emerging photographer a few years ago, i was not a huge maternity photo fan.
People would ask and i would quickly and, many times with out a second thought, point them in the exact opposite direction that i was in. But, as i've grown older (ish) and wiser (ish) i've found myself being very drawn to the things that happen after the wedding. I think that at that time in my life i was incapable of seeing beyond that one day, that one moment that a couple would have. I always viewed it as the climax, the most exciting and important day of their life.
But i was wrong.
The story is not over. Beginning. Middle. and End. are a requirement - no matter how long, or how short the piece may be.
A wedding is so, beautiful and important, and yes - depending on the couple - it really is the most important day in their life. I've come to realize the world does not stop once the wedding is over. People keep living, changes happen. the earth keeps turning and the seasons continue to change. For Jo and Keith, their next important day is rapidly approaching (and more important days will continue to come into their lives). There's a little boy that is on his way into their world, and he is going to change everything.
I can't wait to meet him.
and find out his name.
Until then, here are some teasers of the afternoon i spent with these genuinely amazing people.
That's all. For now.
Stay tuned, yeah?
